Sony A99 II Advantages:
- 12 more megapixels (no AA filter)
- Over 300 more AF points
- 5fps faster burst mode
- Tilting LCD screen
- Built-in 5-axis image stabilization that works with every lens
- Actual 4K video with far more usable features for videographers
- 120fps in Full HD
- Quite cheaper
In short, the Sony A99 II is faster, has a higher resolution, a whole army of AF points, amazing 4K video capabilities and a built-in image stabilization. With all of that, it’s around $300 cheaper than the 5D Mark IV and they were both announced around the same time (Aug/Sep 2016). The A99 II is definitely recommend for anyone that wants a camera that can do it all!

Canon 5D Mark IV Advantages:
- Slightly bigger and more detailed LCD screen
- Much better battery life (900 vs 490)
- USB 3.0 vs 2.0
- More lenses to choose from
Except for the last one (which is important for most of us) and a longer battery life, the Sony A99 II makes the 5D Mark IV look like a model from a few years ago. Sony doesn’t have as big lens selection as Canon yet, but there’s a whole lot to choose from anyway.
