Nikon D3300 Advantages:
- Megapixels – 8 more megapixels
- AA Filter – The D3300 has no AA filter which results in slightly sharper images
- Higher Max ISO – Both native and expanded ISO are higher by 1 stop. The amount of noise is also a little bit less visible
- Auto Focus – 11 vs 9 AF points
- 5 vs 3fps – Noticeably faster and better for wildlife and sports
- Full HD at 60fps – The T6 can “only” do 30fps, so 60fps is better for slow motion clips and smoother videos
- Microphone Jack – The D3300 has a microphone jack so you can get better audio quality
- Bigger Buffer – 100 shots JPEG buffer versus 15
- Battery Life – 200 shots longer battery life
- Weight & Size – 100g lighter body and slightly smaller
The Nikon D3300 beats the Canon T6 in everything. Same price, but you get a newer sensor with 8 more megapixels, better ISO performance, 5fps, better Full HD video and a longer battery life.
Not to mention, the D3400 is the lightest DSLR so if you’re looking for something compact it’s even better than the already small T6.

Unless you already own Canon lenses, I really recommend you to go with the Nikon. Both brands have excellent models, but at this price range, it’s obvious who offers a better choice. You might be better of comparing the Nikon D3300 to Canon Rebel SL1.
