Olympus E-M10 II Advantages:
- AA Filter – The E-M10 II has no AA filter which will result in slightly sharper images, mostly visible if printing large
- Body Image Stabilization – The E-M10 II has built-in image stabilization that works with every lens, even if that one has no IS technology. Excellent for older lenses or expensive primes.
- Higher Max ISO – The native ISO is 2 stops higher
- AF Points – 81 AF points versus 9. They’re all contrast based compared to phase-detection on the T6, but they’ll still perform similar when shooting sports or moving subjects
- 8 vs 3fps – Noticeably faster for sports and wildlife
- LCD Display – The LCD screen is articulating, supports touchscreen and has a higher resolution
- Focus Peaking – The E-M10 II, like all other mirrorless cameras, can highlight what’s in focus before taking a picture. Excellent if you have bad eye sight or are using manual lenses
- Viewfinder – 100% coverage with a higher magnification. This won’t affect your shots, but you’ll see your subjects bigger and better.
- Full HD at 60fps – Better for slow motion recordings
- UHS-II – Both cameras support SD, but the T6 doesn’t support UHS-I speeds let alone UHS-II, which is the fastest SD cards go right now.
- Faster Max Shutter Speed – 1/16000 vs 1/4000
- Slowest Shutter Speed – 60″ vs 30″, but both cameras have a bulb mode
- JPEG Buffer – The amount of JPEGs you can take before the buffer fills is 28 compared to 15
- RAW Buffer – 18 versus 6
- Time-Lapse
- Flash Sync Speed – 1/250 vs 1/200
- Size & Weight – The E-M10 II is a lot smaller and lighter
The Olympus E-M10 II is a mirrorless camera with a MFT sensor, which allows it to be so small and light.
Besides the size, its biggest advantages are 8 vs 3fps, built-in stabilization that works for photos and videos, LCD screen that can be moved and the bigger buffer. It doesn’t cost a lot more so if size is very important to you, you’ll love it.

Canon T6 Advantages:
- NFC Connection
- Battery Life – 180 shots longer battery life
- Less Expensive – With the kit 18-55mm lens, the T6 costs around $100 less
The Canon T6 is the most affordable, basic DSLR from Canon. It’s an excellent camera but compared to other models it usually never stands out.
Should you get it? Only if going over $450 is already more than you’re okay with.
